Samsung bada phone was the one of most talked about topic at this year’s MWC in Spain. Following the announcement of the first Samsung Bada phone, the Samsung Wave, we have gathered some information here relating to the unique platform.

Google has always been a major player when it comes to mobile. And not just for the service that it provides or the platform it has released, but more significantly, the intelligent algorithm that it has developed that adds to user experience (think of the Google Navigation for mobile).

Case in point, Google Shopping for Mobile’s latest ‘In stock nearby’.

We’re happy to announce that as of today, if you’re searching for a product that is sold by participating retailers, including Best Buy, Sears, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm, you can just look for the blue dots in the search results to see if it’s available in a local store.

Currently and officially available on Android, iPhone and WebOS phone, you just have to point your mobile browser to Google.com and tap the “more” link to find the “Shopping” tab.

Try it out by entering a product that you’re looking to purchase, check to see if the listed results have a link underneath with a blue dot indicating that there’s stock nearby.

Early adapting retailers who are interested in participating can do so by filling out a brief form (provided by Google) and making sure you have the required tools for the service.

AT&T has today released its sets messaging phones (also known as candy phone or featured phones) prior to CTIA next week. The Samsung Starburst and Strive are a pair of devices equipped with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and GPS for navigation.

Priced at an inexpensive $40 and $20 respectively after rebate, these phones are targeting non-smartphone users whose primary use for the phone is phone call or messaging.

The Samsung Starburst is a touchscreen-only device with 3 basic buttons (call, end call and return). The Samsung Strive has a vertical QWERTY slider keyboard with a 2-megapixel camera.

The main focus however, is not on the device or even their prices. The latest AT&T’s release is focused on demonstrating its cloud sync features and MobileShare, it’s online sharing service.

Subscribers of the cloud sync service can sync their address book and import information from their email accounts.

Mobile Share will allow users to share photos and videos up to 10MB in size. The paid service provides several pay options including: $0.35 per upload, $10 for a series of 50 transfers or $15 per month for an additional 10GB of space.

These services are provided through AT&T. It can be seen as a way to place conservatively-priced featured phones in a mobile environment rich in sharing.

WMExperts was at MIX10 to catch the unveiling of the developer tools for Windows Phone 7 Series.

Silverlight alongside XNA will be playing a major role in the platform’s fluidity. According to Microsoft, the flash alternative tool,

will enable developers to create and deploy even more robust applications and rich interactive experiences.

The developer tools is free for download which will include the Expression Blend, a

“development workflow tool which includes features such as Path Layout to enable developers and designers to build and animate innovative UI design via ground-breaking visual layout mechanism, without the need to write code.”

For users who have not used Expression Blend before, the application is fairly flexibility and can also be used as a web development tool.

Other announcements include detail of the services available to developers:

• Accelerometer, an intuitive control that responds to motion
• A Microsoft Location Service to provide developers with a single point of reference to acquire location information
• Microsoft Notification Service for pushing information to the phone, regardless of whether or not an application is running
• Hardware-accelerated video with digital rights management (DRM)
• Internet Information Services Smooth Streaming for the industry’s highest quality content viewing experience
• Multitouch
• Camera and microphone support

With the hardware specs kept at a consistent rate, developers can develop applications without worrying about variability across the platform.

Today, Fandango is launching a mobile ticket program in eight cities which lets moviegoers finally go paperless. Your ticket is delivered to your mobile phone via an SMS or MMS message linked to a 2D barcode, which the ticket-takers can scan.

Buying tickets online has made life easier for many users. But having to still line up and pick up your purchased ticket is not doing away the long line to catch your favorite movie.

Fandango takes it a step further by using a 2D barcode that you can scan as a ticket. This does away paper ticket and lining up for them altogether.

Pay for the ticket from your mobile browser and take the 2D barcode received via SMS or MMS to the participating movie theaters and walk right past the long line to your favorite movie.

Samsung Spica has been out and about for just over a month and is already receiving royal treatment – an upgrade to Android 2.1.

Looking fairly similar to the Samsung Galaxy (i7500), the Samsung Spica (i5700) is well equipped with Google applications alongside an 800 MHz processor amongst other features.

Samsung is the leading mobile manufacturer that includes AMOLED display on the mobile devices. And this year, a new term has been penned called the Super AMOLED.

But what is Super AMOLED and what is so super about it?

Comparing that to the regular OLED, the Super AMOLED’s the thin display already has touch sensors integrated, the colors are relatively more vivid (thanks to the thinner layer), the viewing angle is also improved.

Evernote, the free multiplatform application that allows people to remember everything that matters to them, announced today that Evernote for Android will be pre-installed on selected Samsung Android mobile devices. In the U.S., the Evernote application was included as part of a recent software update to the Samsung Behold® II.

Alaska Airlines is the latest airline to launch its own native mobile application across multiple platforms. The purpose of the mobile application is to provide services such as access to flight status information, flight schedules, Web check-in, flight alerts, etc.

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air today announced the launch of three mobile applications designed for iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile users. Unlike the Web-optimized mobile.alaskaair.com site, the applications are custom built for each device and can be downloaded directly to the smartphone.

This move sees the continual addition of more airlines and travel agency that have launched its own mobile application. Smartphone users will be able to conveniently access flight information whenever needed. It’s travel made easy.
