We bring you more good news from IFA Berlin 2012! In addition the announcement of the , Samsung has made an official statement in their keynote proclaiming that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be making its way onto the Samsung Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note 10.1 ‘very soon.’

This announcement is in line with SamMobile’s progress report on Samsung’s official 4.1 firmware development. According to their report, they are “really impressed” with the development progress on the GT-I9300 firmware, with “tremendous improvement” displayed in each iteration. In addition, SamMobile has noted that Samsung is also updating the UI with this update, which is a departure from their previous Gingerbread to ICS update, where they kept the UI almost identical. The best part about this update is that Jelly Bean only be a visual update, but with its ‘Project Butter’ enhancements, an intrinsically faster and better looking update.

Although there was no mention of an official release date, the ‘very soon’ announcement paired with previous speculation or early Q4 release could mean we could see it as soon as September for international variants, and perhaps October or November for U.S. versions. Stay tuned for updates!
