Sure there is a crop of new phones coming out in the next couple months, but what about sticking with the solid Galaxy Nexus?
That’s right, Google is now offering the HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus firect from the Google Play Market for the low, low price of $399.99. Before this announcement, there was no official way to get the unlocked GSM version of the phone and for myself this was the chief barrier of entry. I really wanted one of these bad boys but 1) I was not getting the CDMA version, and 2) not paying $500-$600 to get it shipped form overseas. Technical issues aside, the CDMA versions still cost $199.99 on contract–I would much rather pay $399.99 and be free to use my device on T-Mobile or AT&T (this also increases its resale value).
Another reason to buy this piece of kit with the looming quad core devices is its pure Google experience. That means absolutely no bloatware and the fastest official software updates, so those of you already anxious for Android 5.0 Jelly Bean, this is the device to get. As a bonus, the phone’s Google Wallet app comes preloaded with a $10 credit as well! There is a non optional, UPS 2 day shipping and possible sales tax associated with the price so for Washington residents the grand total turns to be $436.12, still a great deal in my opinion, so head over to the Play Market and get shoppin’!
