How To: Transfer Data via USB on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Upon trying to transfer some of the new screenshots I had taken in our How to take screenshots on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 article, I wasn’t able to get my laptop to recognize the Tab 10.1.

There was no prompt on the tablet side asking if I wanted to “activate USB storage” as well. After some tinkering, I found that deactivating USB debugging allowed my laptop to recognize the tablet as a media device at which point it installed drivers and allowed access to the Tab 10.1’s internal storage.

1. Connect your Tab 10.1 via USB to your computer, the icon below should appear—hit it

2. Uncheck ‘USB debugging’ and reconnect your device to the computer

3. This time when you connect the Tab 10.1, it will install drivers and prompt you with the option to explore the device:

    I am failing to transfare files from my pc to my samsung 10.1 and its actually worryng me a lot because i have trust in samsung bt it seems like this time I will be disapointed

    I couldn’t get to the AutoPlay part even after I uncheck the debugging box. Did I miss out anything?

    Thanks, that works on Windows PC of my friend, but how about Mac…..?
