Samsung just dropped two huge (figuratively and literally) devices over at IFA Berlin; the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Note:
Note: not to scale
There have been plenty of rumors about some type of Samsung device (originally thought to be the Nexus Prime) with a whopping 5.3-inch Super AMOLED Display with an amazing full HD 1280×800 resolution. Touting itself as the largest device of its kind with smartphone portability, the Galaxy Note also features the “S Pen” which is an advanced pen-input technology designed to take full advantage of the Galaxy Note’s expansive touch screen.
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a groundbreaking device in and of itself as well. Headlined as “The World’s First Mobile Tablet Feauring a Super AMOLED Plus Display,” the device will be astonishingly thin at a mere 7.89mm, and feature a powerful 1.4GHz dual core processor. For any of you that complained about the Galaxy Tab 10.1’s plastic backing, you will be pleased to learn that the Tab 7.7’s back plate will be made of metal .
Although there is no word on availability yet, it will be interesting to see when these devices are released, especially with the Galaxy S II still awaiting its U.S. arrival, and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Nexus Prime still in the works.
