We have an exciting 3 part series over the next few days for our readers out there. We’ll be pitting the Samsung Focus against the HTC HD7 to see who is king in the US WP7 market. We’ll be looking at the following features of each phone:
- GPS speed and accuracy (indoor and outdoor tests)
- Screen quality
- CPU and memory performance
- Camera quality and features
- The pre-installed applications
In part 1 we’ll be taking at look at the GPS speed and accuracy of both devices as well as the screen quality.
GPS (indoor test)
As you’ll see in the video below, the GPS quality is the same with both devices. They found my location in the same amount of time and each held a radius of about 30-50 meters steadily throughout the test. Check out the video to see this in more detail and look to tomorrow’s post for the outdoor test!

Screen Quality
There really is no competition in this test. The Samsung’s Super AMOLED blows the HTC’s LCD screen out of the water with a nuclear warhead. The colors are insanely more vibrant and the viewing angles are to die for. The Focus will also get almost 30% more battery life (and way more than that since the HD7′s battery is a mere 1230mAh) WARNING: Make sure to get a napkin to wipe your mouth before you watch the video below.

Stay tuned for the continuation of this article tomorrow and Saturday of this week. Also let us know if you’d like to see other features compared between these two monster devices.
