Foursquare Finally Coming to Windows Mobile
Foursquare is a location-based social networking app that allows users to “check-in” at venues using either text messaging or through a mobile application.
In the previous era, Foursquare seems to have focused itself to a few specific cities and developed a native client available only to iPhone users. For the huge Windows Mobile followers bemoaning for a FourSquare client, it is about to happen.
Anand Iyer, a Senior Product Manager at Windows Mobile has pride himself in developing a working client for the popular social networking site last year during the Race to Market Challenge.
Note: As credited by Anand Iyer, the application is developed by Touchality.
Today, the beta version of WinMoSquare, resulted from many months of coding is now available. You will need to either send in an email or submit your email address through the webform to get the installation file.
Prerequisite
The application currently only runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 Professional device (touchscreen). Which in our case points to Samsung Omnia II, Omnia, Epix and Intrepid. You will also need to have .NET Compact Framework 3.5 installed on your device to run the application.
