Yesterday we saw one way to reduce battery usage by switching from 3G to 2G. Today, we are going to use a native option to automatically set data connection to turn off when no packet was sent or received in certain number of minutes.

From the Start Menu, go to General Settings and choose Wireless Manager. From there go through Menu > Data Connection Settings.

To enable the automatic disconnect, just check the box next to “No packet for“. Then you can choose the interval: 2 mins, 5 mins and 10 mins.

Below is a screenshot of the option that you may find on your device.

This way, your data connection will automatically turns itself off when there’s no activity within that period of time.

Hello,

which version of TouchWiz do you have? I don’t have such a Setting-Screen at my version…

Thanks
