This is a shot in the dark but I need to start somewhere.
I’ve got a Northstar 6000i marine gps system. The unit allows me to save my waypoints to a compact flash. I’m trying to find a way to plug the compact flash into my PC and edit/add these gps coordinates directly into the flash card and then put the flash card back into my Northstar for use on my boat.
Northstar marine won’t give me any information about the ability to edit the flash card from a pc; they will only reference editing the flash card while it is in the Northstar unit.
So, my questions are:
Is it possible?
Is there a program I can download/buy?
I’ve got a handwritten book with literally 4000+ GPS coordinates that would take me days/weeks to manually enter by using the Northstar Unit.
My unique dream would be to create a file on my PC of all my long/lat GPS coordinates into something like an excel spreadsheet and then convert/import the data to the compact flash card and then put the card into my Northstar unit and then see all my waypoints. Please feel free to forward this email and my address to anyone you think might be able to help with this as I’m getting nowhere with Northstar.
