A decade into the famed Y2K bug, some Windows Mobile users are experiencing what is appropriately known as the Y2K10 bug. This bug that dates message received after January 1st 2010 to be from 2016 affects different versions of Windows Mobile and seems to be ROM independent.

Currently, T-Mobile seems to be one of the few carrier not bugged by this issue. According to the article posted on WMExperts, HTC and LG are both aware of this bug but no official response is available yet.

After several updates, a patch is now available to fix the bug. If you are the lucky few that is experiencing this Y2K10 bug, simply download the cab file posted below:

Update 1: We have tested several Samsung Windows Mobile devices such as Samsung Omnia II, Omnia, Epix, and Jack under AT&T network (not Verizon network). Fortunately, they all works fine.
