Yeap, but they are selling it for $10 bucks whilst Connecting Notifier is free to try. (:
(They do have the settings UI though. Connecting Notifier just works in the background, so it should be lighter on your system.)

The reason for vibrating noise has to do with the position of the vibration motor which on your device seems to be near the mic where the noise will be transferred to the receiver. We may consider to reduce the length, but currently with time of vibration less than 1 second, we don't want to reduce it casually and reduce the sensitivity of the vibration.

You should be able to give it a try. The application/patch should work on most pocket pc/smartphones that doesn't already have this feature.

Tried it on my SonyEricsson Xperia X1. It works ok as described, but "vibrating noise to the receiver side" was clearly heard so I uninstalled it.

The HTC dialer I tried earlier had vibrate at connect too, but the vibration was shorter, just a signle "tap". This one is too long and that produces a strong noise. So maybe you could make it shorter?
