Omnia II has been introduced to the Asian island of Singapore through an exclusive preview event coordinated by PPCSG (PocketPC Singapore) and Samsung. Power to the people here in this example where an online forum is chosen to host the preview event. Amongst the finger food, lucky draws and special event discounts, the Omnia II as well as the Omnia Pro was revealed.

Omnia II will be available on 7/18/2009 is priced around S$898 (around US$614), we are assuming that this is the price without the contract. The preview event have also released more specifications about the device with an explanation on the difference in the date of release for Windows Mobile 6.5 which will be available for upgrade on the Omnia II (which runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 at release).

Omnia Pro (which equate Samsung Jack in the U.S) will be available in early August with an unfixed price of under S$500.

Maybe we can expect this sort of event here in the U.S to be hosted by someone like … CareAce? :)

Do keep check back for more information on the exciting Samsung Omnia II!

Note: Lobang is not a kind of lobster. It simply means ‘deal’ or ‘opportunity’ in Malay, used commonly in Singlish (the lovely Singaporean English).
