We’ve seen many weather-related application been developed on the PocketPCs. Some as widgets, some simply applications. Not much has been covered for the smartphone. NRG is not just another weather forecast application, but a panel that can be added to the Home Screen’s panel view.
Installation
Easy installation, you can install it on either the device or Storage.
We have test with ‘BlackJack II + RAM&Battery monitor version’

Design
It is perfectly go with Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard panel UI.
Chome configurator is WM standard panel UI customizing tool that you may need to add additional panels to the home screen.
Features
- Autoupdate according to Yahoo servers’ time + 10 minutes + 1-5 random minutes (so we don’t all hit the server at the same exact times)
- Update in 15 minutes when no connection is found.
- First forecast day info comes from Yahoo… the rest from weather.com
- Verbose status information as the script is running.
- Minimal set of icons to save space.
- Detailed Forecast panels can be turned off in “Advanced Options”
- Application will not automatically refresh the screen while the phone’s keypad is locked.
- Built-in leftover notifications removal tool, in case you want to uninstall. See “advanced options”.
Cons
The main theme has changed to green automatically.
An unnecessary pannel was created. If someone who can get rid of it, please let us know.
Should I get it?
Yes, you should. Compared to PocketPC, there are a few weather forecast applications for Smartphone such as Blackjack, Propel Pro, and Jack. It will be one of your best sliding panel on the home screen.

That panel can be removed with CHome Configurator. Just hide the CTestUIPlugin panel. In order to work with the Jack, you have to also change registry key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome
Value: CPRFile SlidingPanel (default) -> Chome

Don’t try the app for HTC. I have tried but it ruined my home screen.
This software was never designed to run your Samsung devices which is why it “ruins” homescreens and created “unnecessary” panels. It was designed to run on the TMobile Dash and that’s it! It looks great on it!
@NRGZ28 I think it seem to work fine on the Samsung Smartphones. I guess it’s a good coincidence, more power to the developer.
