This is lesson #3 in the ongoing series of CareAce.net’s Business Users’ Guide with a focus on the Samsung Jack. Please check back for more lessons as we move from basic to more advanced materials.

We have secured our device and learnt how to synchronize information. Now we’re going to move on to the main reason you have a smartphone, which if I’m not too assuming, is to make phone calls. And thanks to the multiple function on the device, you can do one too many things when it comes to phone calls.

Here are some of the default features on the device that we will be looking at:

  1. Caller ID
  2. Auto Answer
  3. Call Waiting
  4. Call Forwarding
  5. More extensive uses!

Following the various steps, you will find a video guide to brief you through them.

1. Caller ID

Don’t you want to show your phone number to whom you are calling?

Setting > Phone > All calls > Caller ID
When you place a call, your phone number can be displayed or hidden from the person to whom you are calling. Using this option, you can enable or disable the display of your caller identification. You can choose from Everyone, No one, or Only my contacts.
This is a very useful feature to prevent spamming of your phone number from service providers. Or if you’re a playful one, this is good for a prank, although us at CareAce don’t support such activity. :P

2. Auto Answer

Setting > Phone > Voice call
This service allows you to set the time (in seconds) in which your phone will automatically answer the call during hands-free operation. Choose from Never, 2 seconds, 4 seconds, 6 seconds, 8 seconds, or 10 seconds.

3. Call Waiting

Setting > Phone > Voice call
This service allows you to receive another call while another call is in progress. Select Provide call waiting notifications to activate this service.

4. Call Forwarding

Setting > Phone > Voice call

Otherwise known as Call Diverting, this option is a useful for times when your phone is running out of battery and you want to divert calls to your friends’ phone so you are not missing any calls.

This network service allows you to forward your incoming calls to another phone number.

  • Always: All calls are forwarded.
  • Busy: Calls are forwarded when you are on the phone.
  • No Reply: Calls are forwarded when you do not answer.
  • Unreachable: Calls are forwarded when your phone is turned off or your phone is out of the service area.

5. Extensive Uses

Below are some of the extensive uses that you may want to look at when it comes to making and receiving phone calls on your device.
