Anything is possible in the world of coding. In the event where we have seen Hackintosh, we are seeing the latest mobile platform Android OS being operated on the Samsung Omnia, a Windows Mobile device. Andromnia is certainly not fully functional yet, but huge potential it has.

So far, since there are no drivers for the hardware features, the basic phone functions cannot yet be realized. The Andromnia currently only allows for touch screen interaction and the following:

  1. Boot up on the device,
  2. Load the kernel,
  3. And show the clock ticking on the Android home screen

If you’re interested in trying it out on your Omnia (available on i900, i908 and i910), you can certainly give it a try on an SD card since it will not load off your storage card. You can keep track of the updates here, with the latest update just days old. If you’d like to contact the developers, you can do so through the IRC channel:

Andromnia, it would be interesting to see what you will become.
