Volumize your device! While we do specialize in Windows Mobile devices, and we do also enjoy music, speaking the dB lingo is not one of our forte. We just know that the higher the number, the louder. But how loud? Or how low? If you do, and you have yourself a Samsung Windows Mobile device, we recommend that you play around with it to get the volume that you need during phone calls and etc.

How do I get there?

Easy. Simply enter *#0002*28346# will get you to the internal volume control. For a moment, you might get excited by the sheer unfurnished look of the layout (especially on the smartphones). Makes you feel like you’re working on some secret application in a bunker. We’ve tried this on both the Samsung Omnia, a Pocket PC and the Samsung Jack, a Smartphone.

And while the Omnia’s menu is somewhat more organized, you will still want to know the meaning behind acronyms like DAC, RVOL, SPK (speakerphone), etc. And then you may adjust the dB value accordingly. Do remember that Loudness is rather subjective, so your level of Loudness might be hurting the ear drum of the poor guy sitting next to you on the Metro.

Know your ‘dB’ lingos? Show it off using this useful internal volume controller. And feel free to share any knowledge that you may have!
