Handheld gaming has always been a fantasy for gamers. The Nintendo DS, Sony PSP are both born of that fantasy to be able to play on the go. While mobile device does not yet have the ability to handle hardcore gaming (despite the promising NVIDIA Tegra), it would be lovely for it to be able to play games that are not just Flash-based. Who would not prefer bringing around 1 device rather than 2?

In the near future, if OTOY delivers as it advertises, you can.

Using the popular Samsung Omnia, OTOY demonstrated in the video below of its product, which streams games through mobile browsers avoiding any installation on the limited hardware.  The upcoming application will work over both 3G and Wi-Fi connection. While many details are being ironed out, it is inevitable for users to lay their eyes on the application’s potential.

How cool would it be for us to change the stereotype of the in-house World of Warcraft players? With OTOY, they can now go outside and play the games anywhere they’d like to go. No more 8-hours of Solitare on your next flight to Asia, but the all exciting GTA 4. Plus, you don’t have to worry about not having the newest and latest technology to support the games, since they will be streamed and will not be chewing off your device’s memory.

Along, the woo-has are the obstacles that the developers has to overcome which includes but certainly not limited to the stability of connection on both 3G and Wi-Fi networks.

The future is now here and your fantasy of combining PSP and Omnia may be coming true sooner than you think.
