Aside from the commonally used text messaging and phone calling, emails are becoming a commonality amongst users. And while Outlook is somewhat the standard for most businesses, individuals does not have much need for this. Most people have to learn to live with something that they see but never uses, until now. With some changes to the registry, you can easily remove the option.

Objective

Remove “Outlook Email” option

Applicable Device(s)

Windows Mobile PocketPCs and Smartphones

Samsung Omnia, Samsung Epix, Samsung Blackjack, Samsung Jack and Samsung Propel Pro

What you need

Registry Editor (such as PHM) – Download it here.

Registry Address

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\Activesync

Folder Name

  • ActiveSync

That’s right, this is somewhat unusual comparing to previous registry edits. You will need to backup your device and then delete the entire ActiveSync Folder. After which, give it a soft reset and the Outlook Email will not be there anymore.

Screenshot

As you can see the image from the right, the “Outlook Email” has been removed. You’re good to go. :)

WARNING! I tried this on my i900 and after that, I couldn’t access my messaging (Email, SMS) at all! I went back to the registry and recreate the entries (as per screenshot above) and thank goodness my messaging feature is back.
