Save Battery in Samsung Windows Phones

One of the main complaints of Windows Mobile users is the high power usage. It is not uncommon for a frequently used device to have battery lasting no more than a day. While CareAce.net have covered some topics on battery saving, Pocketnow.com have compile a checklist in regard to saving battery for Windows Mobile.

Here is the Check list for saving battery in Samsung Windows Mobile Phone.

  1. Turn off Wi-Fi when not in use
    Go to Wireless Manager (Start > Setting > Connection > Wireless Manager)
  2. Turn off Bluetooth and Visible option when not in use
    Use CareAce Bluetooth Notifier or go to Wireless Manager (Start > Setting > Connection > Wireless Manager)
  3. Reduce screen brightness (link)
    Change Backlight settings by adjusting it to Low. Or change Power Management and turn the brightness level to low
  4. Reduce ActiveSync update frequency
    Acess the ActiveSync’s update schedule (Start > ActiveSync > Menu > Schedule)
  5. Reduce Email update frequency (link)
    Access your email’s Send/Receive schedule to adjustment update frequency
  6. Turn off haptic feedback
    Uncheck ‘Screen taps’ in the Sound & Notification setting (Start > Setting > Personal > Sound & Notification)
  7. Turn off beep feedback
    Disable vibration for touchscreen on Vibration (Start > Setting > Personal > Vibration)
  8. Put your device to sleep after using it
    Simply press the power button after each use
  9. Turn off data connection when not in use
    Tap on  the data connection symbol on the taskbar and choose ‘Disconnect’.

Re: Samsung Omnia’s battery: I noticed that when my Omnia is connected to the PC, the device’s battery is being drained instead of being charged. Is it only my device or there are oters, too?
