Samsung Mobile Innovator: More Detail from CTIA 09

Omar Khan, Senior Vice President, Strategy & Product Management at Samsung Telecommunications America, discusses the Samsung Mobile Innovator platform at CITA2009.

Samsung Mobile Innovator went live back in early March, with promise to provide tools for developers – professional or amateur alike, to develop applications for Samsung devices.

The following video unveils more detail about the direction for the application development program in the future. Here are some of the notable points from the video:

  • For the Professionals: The Software Development Kit (SDK) is geared towards professional developers
  • All are welcome: For hobbyist and general consumers a web-based online tool will become available. It will allow applications to be published to their devices.
  • Widget Development: SDK for widget development will become available next month – widgets will be cross platform applications
  • The “Glue”: TouchWiz will be the “layer” between device platform and mobile browser that users will interact with
  • Coming soon: More details regarding the program will be annouced in coming weeks
