I love Evernote’s slogan “Remember Everything.” In the information overloading era, remembering everything has became an increasing challenge for many, Evernote seek to aid those who are in need (and has a mobile device plus a desktop at their disposal).
Evernote has opened their popular ‘cloud and desktop memory-capturing service’ to the general public for an year. Â It’s still in public beta phase(ver 3.3), where users can sign up for free or premium subscriptions. Â Evernote is an easy to use service that allows you to create and manage ‘notes’ in your ‘notebooks’ stored on EN’s (Evernote) server. Â You can sync your notes seamlessly from a mobile phone, PC, or a Mac.
Evernote allows users to capture information in any environment using virtually any device or platform, and makes this information accessible and searchable at any time, from anywhere. The product’s innovative recognition and synchronization technology allows users to capture their memories as text, snapshots, digital ink or audio and then easily find and share them. Printed and handwritten text within images is made fully searchable and all notes are automatically synchronized between the network and local devices.
The browser-based client is similar to the PC client. I find that functions such as modifying tags, creating new notebooks, etc. are easier to access in the PC client. You can also install the Universal Clipper add-on and extensions for Firefox and Internet Explorer which makes copying items to Evernote easier.
If you use this service daily, you may run out of upload allowance for the free subscription quite fast; however, the premium subscription is not a huge burden on the wallet, costing only $5 a month or $45 a year if paid at once, and you get more than 10 times the upload allowance of the free subscription.

Can I access my Evernote folders from another computer?
Yes, you can. Evernote is a cloud service… think of it like Google Docs.
